FIRST PUBLISHED CARTOONS!
We brainstormed and came up with a good two dozen ideas for science cartoons. About
three quarters dealing with the Space Shuttle. We cherry picked about 8 of the best and
sent them to Space World magazine (at that time associated with the National Space Institute).
They accepted several within a week! What a gigantic high that was! Our first sale!
The first pair they published were the two displayed on this page. "This one will drive them crazy"
and "Oh that. That's one of the Airforce's".
The Voyager spacecraft 1 and 2 had been in the news after passing Saturn
Voyager 1 had extensively photographed the planet's ring sytem, and scientists
were stumped by the oddly woven look of the "F" ring.
ARGH took that discovery and was first to give it a full explanation. Heh.
The 2nd Cartoon on the all ARGH Productions page was spoof of the nose art on military aircraft of times gone by.
There was an undetermined number of Shuttles to be constructed and a decision had yet to be made as to
whether or not the Airforce was to get a Shuttle of its own.
And how would it be named? Well, now you know!
These cartoons appeared in the May 1984 issue of Space World magazine.
